Rhino Theatre Staff
Artistic Director, Executive Producer, Founder
Carmela founded Rhino Theatre in 2001 with a passion for the performing arts and made it her mission provide quality live theatre and theatre education for all who shared her love. Under her guidance and leadership as Artistic Director, Rhino Theatre grew to become one of the most thriving theatre companies in the area. Having produced over 300 shows, she recognizes the value of high quality theatre and each production is handled with the greatest of care. She has created educational programs to shape performers, both young and young at heart, to develop their craft. Carmela has shared her own talents onstage as a performer and as director both at Rhino Theatre and other local theatre companies. With a new partnership, securing a second location has given her the beautiful opportunity to expand her mission and reach more performers, audience members, and students.
Jo Ann Ventor
Managing Director, Executive Producer
Jo Ann Ventor joined Rhino Theatre Group in 2016. Prior to joining Rhino, she spent over 10 years in all aspects of theatre from costuming, set design/ decorating, directing, and producing. In addition, her teaching certification lead her to combine interests and become founder of a not-for-profit children's theatre troupe. Producing relevant and interesting community theatre, lead her to a partnership with Carmela. The hope is to build and grow the already successful Rhino brand by acquiring a second location and to continue to offer outstanding, affordable productions while propelling our children's programming, so that many more children may enjoy inclusion and expression -all the life's benefits theatre brings to each of us.
Dr. Kenneth Wolosz has been practicing chiropractic for the past 30+ years and is committed to helping all his patients achieve optimum health and reap the rewards of a pain free, energized wellness lifestyle. Dr. Wolosz is a graduate of New York Chiropractic college, earning his doctorate degree in 1987. In 1988 he completed an additional year of study to become certified as a Sports Physician. In 1990 he was named Medical Director to the New Jersey Eagles Pro Soccer Team, and served as the Team Chiropractor to the North Jersey Imperials Pro Soccer Team from 1994-96. Dr. Wolosz was also an adjunct faculty member at Montclair State University, where he taught classes in Human Disease to health majors. Having always enjoyed art and design, Dr. Wolosz quickly became involved in set design as his family of performers jumped from performance to performance. His innovative designs and creative builds continue to amaze audiences. He’s even worn the director and actor hat a few times!
Events and Office Manager
Growing up on Rhino Theatre’s stage, Hayley innately recognized the value of theatre at an early age. Her passion for working onstage and off has continued to develop over the past 18 years and she currently performs, directs, and choreographs. Through her involvement in theatre, she discovered another love, event planning. In the summer of 2014, she was hired by Manhattan Theatre Club as the Special Events Intern. Her experiences at this premiere Broadway company included working on the Tony Award Viewing Party, MTC’s Annual Spring Gala, opening night parties and patron events. With these skills and an enthusiasm to create amazing events, Hayley took on a lead administrative role to plan and organize Rhino Theatre’s annual gala event. Since then she has expanded her Rhino work, which includes youth birthday parties, the Youth Performing for Change program, and the Rhino on the Road program.
