ROUND 2: AUDIENCE VOTES

Date of Audience Votes Auditions (Round 2): TBA

Time: TBA

Those invited by our judges to move on to this second round will arrive approx. 1 hour prior to the scheduled broadcast time to review order and traffic patterns for their performances.

Please note: this round is by judge invite only and will be performed in front of our panel of judges, as well as a small invited studio audience, along with being streamed via Facebook Live. All those watching or attending may vote.

AUDITIONS: SONG MATERIAL AND PRESENTATION

  • Singers must perform the actual song during the audition that they will use in the final competition.  Your karaoke track must be PRE-EDITED to 3-1/2 minutes. We will  fade it if it goes over the 3:30 minute mark.

  • Tracks can be a simple piano accompaniment or a “karaoke” style accompaniment, but it needs to be a clear, well recorded accompaniment.  Traditional karaoke style tracks are recommended, as long as the lead singer is not “singing along” with you.

  • All contestants must sing with a recording for the audition.

ALL TRACKS MUST BE EMAILED IN MP3 OR MP4 FORMAT BEFORE YOUR AUDITION

  •  Contestants must have the selection prepared and memorized.

  • Any style of song is acceptable for the audition, but it must be free of profanity and acceptable for viewing by a family audience.

  • You will be refused an audition if we are not in receipt of your karaoke track prior to your audition OR if you do not provide the pre-edited track to us upon your arrival via your phone, or a CD or flash drive that can be set up to play through our sound system.

  • No live instruments will be accepted and “a cappella” auditions will not be permitted.  We will provide a microphone for you, as well as sound equipment if you have decided to bring your karaoke track with you on your phone, or a CD or flash drive.

  • Dress for the audition is casual.

ROUND 1 AUDITIONS: JUDGE'S PICKS

Singers will be judged on the following areas:

vocal ability (pitch, tone, quality)

presentation and showmanship

overall enthusiasm and expression

Highly qualified judges will listen to and evaluate your audition, and will respond in a polite, professional fashion.  Each contestant will be given a comment sheet, which will reflect the judge’s professional response to your audition and our judges will also provide a few verbal comments and feedback on your audition. This is a very valuable tool to all singers.

Judges have the opportunity to award one singer each the "Golden Rhino Ticket" which allows them to skip the second round of auditions (Audience Votes) and move straight to the final live show round (Rhino Voice Teens Champions).

If contestants are selected by our judges to move on, they will then be given the details about the second round of auditions, our Audience Votes round.

ROUND 2 AUDITIONS: AUDIENCE VOTES

JUDGE'S SCORES

Singers will be given a score from our judges in this round based on:

vocal ability (pitch, tone, quality)

presentation and showmanship

overall enthusiasm and expression

dedication and attention to coaching**

**Judges will especially be looking to see if performers took note of and implemented any notes or comments given during the last round in their scores.

Each category has a potential score value of up to 10 points, making a perfect score from the judges a 40 (10 points in each category).

AUDIENCE VOTES

The judge's scores will be combined with the votes that each signer receives from the following two audience pools:

Live, In Studio, Invited Audience

Facebook Live Stream Audience

Please note: the live, in studio audience will be made up of audience members chosen by and comprised of the Rhino Theatre staff and will not be made up of family or friends of those participating in the competition so as not to create a bias in votes. Competitors, however, are welcome to share the Facebook Live Streaming event that will be taking place and encourage them to vote for them during the broadcast.

HOW AUDIENCE VOTES WORK

Audience votes will be tallied using a text system. At the end of the performance after all singers have gone, our announcer will call each singer back to the stage with a reminder of their first name and the song they sang, and the singer will appear once more holding a text code in front of them for viewers and audience members to text their support using a number that will be given during the broadcast.

Audience votes will be tallied for each singer and combined with the judge's scores to create a Finalist list of competitors who will move on to the live show round: Rhino Voice Teens Champions.

FINALISTS &  LIVE  SHOW

Rhino Voice Teens Champions Live Show

Date of Champions Live Show: TBA

Time of Show: TBA

12 finalists will be selected from the Tween competition and 12 finalists will be selected from the Teen competition, to perform their audition song at the final live audience show: Rhino Voice Teens Champions.  This performance  will be open to the public and finalists will perform in front of a live, paying audience who will determine the ultimate winner by their votes.

These 24 finalists must have a second song prepared for the live audience show. Our live audience will cast their votes using the same text system we used during Round 2 Auditions to find the top three finalists in both the tween and teen competitions.  The three top tweens and teens will perform their second song. After their performances, our judging panel will determine the final champion of Rhino Voice Teens for the tweens and teens.

THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE A CASH PRIZE
